Spinal-Injury.net :  Holiday Guide - Local Transport

Local Transport: This varies enormously from country to country and place to place.  Use the Internet Search engines to your advantage.  Once you have decided a destination and narrowed down a few hotels do a specific Search for local transport or information sites about disabled access and getting around.  By using this method you'll often find the best solution to your needs prior to going away.  Some countries have fully accessible underground systems some don't.  Normally they'll be at least one wheelchair accessible cab available at most airports but do plan ahead and don't rely on finding one when you get there.  The best information out there is normally from other peoples experiences so look in community websites like this one, our Message Boards and magazines etc first.
