Is the short question.  Reason?

Got new wheelchair, LifeStand electric wheelchair stand up, and the Castor wheel tire started breaking up and losing chunks in no time.  Now they are like sponges and soak up all the wet when I go outside.  They are those green tubeless type tires.  On the side it says 200x 50.  Is it possible to get green solid tyres 200x 50, that last a reasonably long lasting?  If so where?  If not possible, where can I get the ones with inner tube?

Have you checked on-line?  I have alot of luck finding what we need by purchasing on-lline, cost is most of the time better and there is always a number to call if you have questions and you can place orders over the phone.  We don't have a power chair so i really don't have a contact for you plus i am in the U.S.

Good luck

I buy black tyres for my chairs from here ......

http://www.agrityresdirect.co.uk/index.php?pg=viewitem&id=1744

last longer than grey ones and much cheaper too, online order and next day delivery .... price for your 200 x 50's includes innertube for tyres too :@)

you'll need to make sure the wheels can take tubed tyres first tho Wink

how olds the chair, if the tyres aren't fit for purpose, you may have claim for replacement with supplier ?

;Dalready been down that line, and got a brand new chair out of it, so I feel a bit cheeky quibbling about some tyres now.  I don't mind paying for these.

don't the black of tyres leave black skidmarks everywhere?

I'm still checking whether I can fit tires with innertubes.

My own chair has never had anything else but black tyres and marking is not a problem I encounter.

This is going way of track - but staying with chairs - I saw a lady recently with gold push rims on her chair. That is my next "must have" accessory.

black tyres are a harder compound of rubber, I've never had mine leave marks or ruin carpets etc, mind you mine are used mainly outdoors

I would urge some caution when choosing black tyres folks. The ordinary black cycle tyres and car tyres come to that have carbon in to make them black - the latex is a non-descript sort of colour. If you have tyres like that you will leave black marks everywhere in the house and fellows will complain.

The black tyres for wheelchairs are non-marking black which do not use carbon in the manufacture and they are safe on floors in the house and do not make any marks. I giot some Schwalbe Marathons for my chair and they are a very hard compound and roll very well (at over 100psi though ought to!) yet have some tread and grip too. Mind, I have 1" wheels and the usual tyres are slicks.
