Hi there,

As a spinal lawyer I look at the cause of the spinal injury to see how I can help. The way in which we as spinal lawyers can help our clients, can be researched by looking at the services we provide on our website. This includes support with caring and travelling expenses where appropriate. If you would like me to send you some links which may be of use, please drop me a line back.

Hi Jonesy

So sorry to read your post, what an awful situation.  My hubby was in hospital 9 months, he is paralysed from chest down.  While he was in hospital I had to sell our home and buy a bungalow and have it converted for wheelchair use.  When I think back I don't know how I managed but you don't realise your strengths until they're really tested.  Disability Living Allowance is not just for people over 65.  My hubby claims it and he's 42 but I don't know how you would carry on with him being in a home.  I know you can go to a Citizens Advice Bureau and they can tell you which benefits you will be entitled to.  If you don't have any savings or a way of paying for alterations to your house, Social Services should be able to help.

If you ring Social Services and tell them you want info on DLA (disability living allowance) I'm sure they'd send you some info, or have a look on their website.
