Got the wheelchair on Friday, bog standard NHS, it feels as heavy as a hippo, really had issues when my OT was hear.

Anyway after she left I used it around the home as I promised her I would to get use to it.

It was so hard to push myself, it felt so heavy.

As I was trying to push myself using all my strength just to move a few metres from one end of the room to another and my hand slipped off the push rim where I was having to push so hard, I fell forward, hand went through the spokes and got caught.

Result was a crack and snap sound, wrist swelled up, phoned OT and was escorted to A&E by my OT and Social Worker (without the chair LOL).

Am home now with a nice cast on my arm...

Now I am stuck, wheelchair the weight of a hippo, can't use sticks / crutch in that arm. A boring few weeks I feel!!

I have really weak wrists, this is the 14th brake to the left and I have done my right about 7 or 8 times

Yikes, they left you with that chair!?! I couldn't see the picture but it sounds like a doozy. Here's to a quick recovery and no more wrist fractures!

Can't you get another chair?  Hope you heal fast and no more breaks in the future!
