Ok, My boyfriend has tried Viagra and it isn't working, he has gone up to 150 mg and I was wondering what everyone else has taken, what dose, any tricks? I have heard about using a pump to help things along and my boyfriend wasn't too fond of that idea, has anyone else tried this and if so, how well did it work?  My boyfriend is new to his injury and well, I haven't been with someone with an SCI before so, I was just wondering what everyone else has found that works or doesn't work. My boyfriend does have a complete injury, just in case that matters.
Thanks!

Wearing my doctor head - I would advise to speak to your own doc as there are various other things similar to Viagra that can be tried.

Wearing my personal injury head - my injury is an incomplete one but I have tended to shy away from Viagra, Ciallis, etc. Simply because as a doctor I have heard all the "stories" about it. One guy I personally know was "up" for days and had to be surgically brought back down to earth.

My own personal experience after 20 years of a spinal nerve injury is there are other ways to be "up close and personal" I have found that sex is not so important now. I prefer to use other ways to "bond" my relationships. Somehow or other, enhanced performance is not the same. Quite a number of SCI folk I know feel the same way. Strange thing is, a woman does not lose her ability to enjoy sex after SCI - but for some reason a man does!

This is not much help to you but I am afraid I think as a doctor first and a human second.

Hello!! My situation with my BF is very similar to yours. I think its very important to be open minded and willing to try everything once... Have fun with it. The pump can be a fun thing and tell him if he hates it, he doesn't have to try it again....
