I know I posted a help question about my BF's neuropathy a week ago but I thought I would try you again. My boyfriend is sooooo anxious in his legs and the neuropathy keeps him up at night. He says his legs feel like they are in a vice and being squeezed or smashed. It's been 2 years since the accident, and he is still in the hosp. But this neuropathy PAIN and this anxiety is new to 2 weeks ago, (when he got some bad news reguarding his plan in heath care) Can anxiety cause more/worse neuropathy? Do you know anyone else with this " restless legs" feeling? ANY IDEAS? He's tired and desperate! THANKS

Lula

As I have already said, I suffer from the same symptoms day in day out. There is no magic cure. Nerve pain is the worst pain of any. I call it "Black Dog" as it comes creeping out of nowhere and lands on me. I am afraid you just have to accept that as part of your injury this is going to be with you all your life. Anxiety does not make nerve pain any worse, if that were the case, I would be lying in agony!!

I am afraid your BF needs to accept that it is part of him, try and find some medication that will take the edge off but belive you me, there is no cure. IF there was, as a doctor, I would have one!

It would be nice to think that as years go on that the pain will lessen or go away. There is so much research to do and help that is needed in this area.

There are many ways to try and help with the pain I would try them all you just never know.

So it definately was mostly anxiety related! He has been A LOT better since surgery- just interesting that anxiety could create more pain- intensify is maybe a better word- and then that pain creates more anxiety- a terrible cycle!
