In a cruel twist of fate, I got food poisoning the night before I was due in Hospital. I spent the night sat on the loo, (and then it started to snow heavily!) So I had to cancel the surgery.
I felt so ill that I went to bed and couldn't move or eat until Christmas eve. Still lost my appetite but I'm feeling positive. Thankfully I am not going to be penalised/punished for cancelling surgery. New date for Arthroscopy yet to be arranged.

Happy New Year to everyone and hope that everyones dreams and hopes for 2010 come true whatever they are!

FairyNuff,

I hope you are feeling better...good to hear that you are feeling positive...remember, it's just another bump in a rather rough road and you'll be ok.  Hopefully they will reschedule the arthroscopy soon.  I know what that frustration is like.  I was excited to have an MRI a couple of weeks ago so I could get some clearer answers, but I freaked out in the scan, so they pulled me out and I had to reschedule it for a "sedation" MRI.  I'll have that on Jan. 8, so maybe then I'll know what my future holds.  OH and about the snow...yesterday, here in the Cleveland Ohio area we had some snow and I thought I'd take the dog out for a minute.  I didn't take my cane, cause in my head I don't REALLY need it Roll Eyes, anyway.....I fell in the snow!!!!  by the time I was able to get up, I looked like a snowman!!!  Hope that made you laugh a bit!

Hey Fairynuff,

you've made it to 2010.

2009 is behind you and all that difficult stuff too - more or less.

2010 should be the year that you get to the root of your pain problem.

Hope the food poisoning has gone and that you are going for your arthoscopy soon.

Well done on getting back on here and please do keep posting. We're egging you on here!

Take care,
L Cheesy

It wasn't food poisoning! It was a reaction to BupreNorphine 20mg patches (for severe pain) I was on. I'd been on the patches for a couple of weeks before the surgery and have continued to use them. The diarrhoea stopped because I was hardly eating a thing. The nausea continued and all I could manage to eat was a banana whenever I took the other pain tablets! It was only yesterday when I really felt so wretched that I finally phoned my GP for help. He has now halved the dosage and hopefully with the help of domperidone (an anti nausea drug) things should improve.
Thanks for all your continuing support, Hope everyones keeping warm with all the snow around!

Hi Fairy....
I can feel your pain, how you are feeling...
Its very hard to be in trouble. You need to take a bed rest as well you need to visit doctor. I don't know you have fracture or not but these type of problem last lately. In elderly age they bones problems high. You need to take care of your health. I have an experience so regarding your health I need to say take care.
Get well soon.
