Hi,

I posted a while ago short after my injury. A few months later and still in rehab I can say it's a hard time for me. The progress is verry little and my lower legs and feet are still completely paralyzed while my upper legs are verry weak. So walking is only possible in a walking frame and it costs a lot of energy. I wear ankle foot orthosis and my knees are  locking to hold me stable enough even with help from my arms. In rehab they are working on my core stability to compensate and to help with daily life and I see a psych to help me cope. When i'm in the pool at rehab i'ts going easier but still difficult.
In the meantime I had my car fitted with handcontrols and now I can drive again. I take my wheelchair apart and put it in the car myself which I thought would be tough but after some practice it's going smoothly now.
So I have some road to go and the dr's don't now if I wille be walking with crutches for longer distances again. In the meantime I train hard and hope my leg  muscles will get stronger.

Take care,

Carin

Any progress is good progress I say. Congrats on driving again, I know the feeling. I've been injured for 6 years and I still lock my right leg to keep me stable, it's my way to compensate for a weak right leg. Keep up the hard work Carin!
