Hi,
My name is Peter I had an accident on August 25Th, 2007. I was paralyzed from the neck down and should have drowned.Little by little over the past 2 1/2 years I have regain allot of my movement throughout my hands, arms, legs, and feet through therapy and what I believe to be the will to beat this. I know that at times it is frustrating to not be able to function without challenges but over time it can be achieved to a point of acceptance. Set goals small at first and always test yourself. Never never give up.

Welcome PeterD

I have to agree with your post.
I am a doctor and had my first accident in 1989 as a result of a train crash leaving me with injuries to the cauda equina nerve system. In 2007, I had a second accident, leaving me with even worse debilitating injuries. Whilst sometimes I find it very hard to fight the blackness that envelopes me, I do not give up. I still set myself goals each day and as everyone here will tell you, I will do ANYTHING to keep on walking.

Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you around here.
