I am having an issue atm i used to have it alot after my pelvic surgery just before diagnosis ..

essentially i forget where my legs are and what to do with them... its hard to explain really, i am screaming move/ lift up... do anything but i foot ankle/lower leg - doesnt listern. i can often remind them by getting someone to touch them .. i have managed to have several falls over the last few days im just shattered.

To recap my issue is subarachniod cyst/spinal tethering t4/5

Hi Stephanie,

I am a complete (T12) myself, but felt the need to add some encouragement. I understand that incomplete injuries still leave partial function below the lesion. I can't walk, but some incomplete injuries at a higher level can. I think the only person/persons that can help provide an explanation of what is going on, are the neurologists that know your case. Other "training" probably requires continuing physio/OT input. I do know this is not always possible on the NHS.

Best wishes for the future, I am sure things will fall into place with time.

thanks Chris for your reply . . . my advice would be the same 4 stephanie, particularly if your motor loss is getting worse you need to speak to your drs again

I developed my spinal cord injury 17 years ago.   I can walk with a walker now. In 1993 I got sick a developed a spinal cord injury.  I progressed from a wheel chair to a walker to a cain over 2 years of PT/OT.  By 1995 I walked with a straight cane.  Three years ago I fell walking a 5k w/ my cane a jarrred my damn cord again!  Now I use a walk er.  Quitting's not an alternative.  I have to go to the gym and use the stationary bike and pullies.  Someday..........there it will be!!!!!!!!!!!!  THE CURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
