Today was crisp and sunny and cold.
August is typically frosty and beautiful and it is so strange to think of those of you on the other side of the world who are going on summer holidays, and enjoying high temperatures and sunshine.

I live in the country and the pine trees are in bloom here. Everything outside is covered in yellow dust. For the first time, I am experiencing hayfever, which I usually associate with summer when the grasses flower and seed. Winter is drawing to a close and here I am, sniffing and itchy eyed.

Spring bulbs are also blooming and gardens are yellow with daffodils.
The night silence is disturbed by the cry of newborn lambs, and lit by the light of a billion stars.

It is a beautiful night.

I thought I would reading a story here Jills. Frost in August!!

Here in Glasgow, it is a dull, dry and clear day with a bit of sun just trying to break the sky just now.

My favourite seasons are Autumn with the colours of the trees, etc, everything getting ready to "die" for the onset of winter. Then along comes Spring, the first crocus and the sign that from a dead, hard ground comes such beautiful flowers. Giving you the hope for the future.

I have just come out of theatre after a 4 hour stint. I am enjoying a little cup of coffee, a Kit Kat and a play on the computer  Grin

You're not too bad yourself.

Heard this last night from a patient:

Life comprises froth and bubble
But two things stand like stone
Kindness in another's trouble
Courage in your own.

I seem to have mor bubbles than froth these days! I know they said life was hard but not this hard.

Sorry if I embarrassed you in my posting to Maria. I told her that it was all down to your postings that had pulled me back from the brink.
