OH DOCTOR I'M IN TROUBLE...

To everyone out there. Please think before you post.

Think how your words will be read.

I suffered a lifethreatening head injury in January that left me with damage to the part of the brain that deals with emotions.

I also suffered a terribly black spell where suicide was uppermost in my mind.

Thanks to Jilly I fought back and was actually enjoying being here. I do not think I deserved such a characetr assassination from Gaz. However, after 1000 odd posts here and hundreds on the other site, I have tried to give unbiased opinions and advice to people.

All I can say is if that is how a "hero member" is treated no wonder folks float on this board and do not join us. What will everyone else think when they read his comments? Personally I dont care. That is not true. I do. But there is nothing I can do except ask everyone to think before they slate someone.

I try to answer things to the best of my ability and the time available, I am not in the house, I am in a hospital with limited use of a computer in my tea break.

I thought I was entitled to my opinion until today.

It has taken me a long time to get where I am today and with a lot of help from "friends" on these forums. However, now, at this time, I am sitting here writing this wondering what the hell I did to Gaz that he slated me so badly.

I have never set out to offend quads or anyone else, however, obviously a prerequiste for being a member here is that you are a happy clappy SCI person. Dont come here if you are just looking for therapeutic needs or a friend. You wont find one.

Up until today, I really felt these forums were going places. Jilly & I have tried to keep them going, however, as I go to my last op I know where they are going now. The "log out" button.

Sorry folks but I cannot help but take offence - some of these comments were so uncalled for. Who is he to slate my character, qualifications, sanity or the like. Yes, I admit that the "balance of my mind" is somewhat disturbed but there IS  a reason for that. Jilly stretched out to sort that and now her good work has gone down the plug. Sorry Jilly, I may hot be here tomorrow. Ask Gaz why!

So, as I go of to do my last op of the day, this may be the "Last Post" by this Here Member. Thanks for your time.

THINK - BEFORE YOU POST - READ IT OVER - HOW WILL IT BE TAKEN BY THE PERSON READING IT.

To those that have helped me - Thanks.
To those that have pushed me over the edge - I have this to say NE TI CONFUNDANTE ILLEGITIMI - Dont lest the B******* grind you down then they will have won. And Yes Gaz I have checked that fact.

gary,
i havent read Gaz'post so i cannot comment on any relevance to you, but i think that you should stay,
we all have opinions and all have disagreements,i dont think that a differance of opinion, no matter even if it hurts you sould make you persona non grata.
we are all in the same boat....more or less .....so why destroy each other,.....plenty of others wil do that.
just stay and be who you are,,,,,i'm sure i will be critised ,not by gaz particularly, nor at this time, but sometime for sure.
everyone is entitled to speak, even you or Gaz.
stick with it.think longer . you may feel better for a little time.

Gary

Its very difficult not to take things too personally on the forums,  I hope that you can understand that Gaz's original response to your post on the 'elderly drivers' debate was fuelled by his very own real experience of the actions of an elderly driver that caused his spinal injury and could just as easily killed him.  I often read things on forums that I think are insensitive or wrong but then quickly realise I think  they are wrong mainly because I disagree with them.  Theres never an exact right or wrong correct or incorrect argument in all depends on what angle you are approaching it from ...... for instance you use the expression above

As someone who is neither happy all the time or has not been able to clap since '94 I find that very insensitive.  Its also plainly wrong that therapeutic needs aren't met by these forums and that friendships aren't made either.  Rather than get personally embroiled in the terms and language you have chosen to use, I accept that you made the comments quickly and while engaged in an emotional debate and to that end haven't let them affect me

I sincerely hope you can see through the differences you have with Gaz and hope you both continue using these forums

If I have breached the terms of the Forum then for that I apologise.

May I point out that "Happy Clappy" was NOT posted by myself. So, if my boss has offended anyone out there then I apologise on his behalf since he is not at work today.

Yes, it is time to forget and move on. Next time I post I will be more guarded.

Hi Gary and Gaz,

I like reading and replying to both of your posts and I am also a very opinionated person, but I do try to post fairly and truthfully, even sometimes I post right from the heart and open right up to my cyber friends, and I class both of you as my friends.

It is easy to put people into categories, we have been totally cheesed off by Defendant's Barresters and Solicitors and Defendant's doctors, and I have posted many times on here and Apparelyzed how I hate them, but in truth as I only have knowledge of the ones we have to deal with, I am also guilty of blaming them all in previous posts, but I think that is more down to my own emotions and frustrations, and I feel the same thing has happened here.

These forums are great for getting your frustrations out of your system as they enable you to rant when you need to, that forms part of the point in using them, and it is easy to categorise groups of people when you might actually mean 10%, but lets all get back to how we used to be, a friendly bunch who did not offend or take offence.
