My daughter had SUV rollover may 23rd 06.  She had little feeling right leg and no feeling  left leg with no movement from hips down.  After surgery and then 45 days at Shepherd she regained right leg 100%.  She knows when she has to go to the bathroom but uses a cathetar to urinate.  If the bladder is full she can start the flow.  Uses finger stimulation for bowels.

Anyone know anything about getting one leg back 100% and the other nothing.  Balance is pretty good and she has a brace for her left leg.  Just curious about if anyone knows anyone who gained 100% in one leeg and the other never recoverd.

Thanks

hi Sweety

welcome to you

that is a known outcome of some spinal cord injuries, has your daughter got proper feeling etc in the leg which she can't move and little/impaired feeling in the one she can, if so the syndrone is known as  Brown-Séquard syndrome:

Which is when damage is towards one side of the spinal cord. This results in impaired or loss of movement to the injured side, but pain and temperature sensation may be preserved. The opposite side of injury will have normal movement, but pain and temperature sensation will be impaired or lost.

hope this helps

Andy
