How great these old boards were. I have archived them now and don't go there anymore. Who says change is bad for you?

Hi, this is a new site to me so I'm sure I'll enjoy reading (and learning new information) from the new and old posts.

I don't know how I managed before I found Apparelyzed, so hopefully between the two sites I shall be kept very busy.

I've never been interested in chat rooms etc before as it was always trivial rubbish, most of it is false and full of fantasy, I like these sites as they talk about real situations and help give advice when it really is needed.  I visit these sites almost daily and feel as if I have found a whole new circle of friends who actually understand how our lives are.

John's sister was driving me mad the other day saying how strange it was that she had a bad back and that John had a bad back.  I spent nearly an hour explaining that John has a left sided flattened spinal cord not merely a slight pain in the back from bending over for too long, but no matter what I said, to her it was exactly the same, because he can walk, albeit in pain, his family are totally blind to the severity of the situation.

Anyway, back to how happy I am to be able to speak to you all on a regular basis.

Yup,

I can empathise fully with that as a 'walker' people assume lots of stuff & you aint too bad blah whereas as I've mentioned many times I'd give up my chronic pain & walking ability to have no pain & full use of hands/arms etc though it is handy sometimes & I can get in/drive Hev's sports car etc  Grin But folks often look at me & don't know & can't understand even if explained & just see a bloke who struggles walking & has one side worse than the other etc if only it were that easy.

Gaz

I'd agree Gaz. My bugbear comes when I use a disabled loo. Folk see me walking and think I am just jumping the queue. They do not see the problems that nerve damage did to by B/B. If only they would stop and think.
